Across refugee settlements, essential facilities that once struggled with unreliable power due to outdated generators are now running with an uninterrupted power supply, thanks to the remarkable collaboration led by the AIRD Adjumani sub-office team. This success story is a testament to what can be achieved when partners unite for a common cause, fuelled by dedication and a shared vision.
As a key logistics partner to UNHCR, AIRD took on the critical task of installing 11 new generators across several refugee settlements in Adjumani, Kiryandongo, and Palorinya. This wasn’t just a simple delivery; it was a complex operation that demanded meticulous planning, technical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to the refugees.
The AIRD team, from the procurement and operations teams to the on-the-ground technicians, went above and beyond. They lifted heavy generators with care, navigated challenging logistics, and worked tirelessly to ensure every unit was installed safely and correctly. Their sacrifices, working long hours and paying close attention to every detail, ensured that this vital infrastructure was put in place without a hitch.
With these new generators, health centres can now safely store vaccines and operate medical equipment, water points can continue to pump clean water, and community spaces can remain powered for essential activities.
This great achievement underscores AIRD’s core mission: to provide critical humanitarian logistics services that directly improve the lives of both refugee and host populations.
This incredible outcome would not have been possible without the instrumental support and close collaboration of our partners. We extend our deepest gratitude to UNHCR for their trust and for initiating this vital project.
We also thank the Office of the Prime Minister and our dedicated partners in the field, including LWF, IRC, and MTI, for their seamless coordination and cooperation. Their partnership ensured smooth access to sites and enabled our team to work effectively, making a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Together, we powered hope and resilience, proving that collaboration is the ultimate engine of humanitarian success.
