As part of the implementation of humanitarian projects funded by the 2024 standard allocation of the Regional Humanitarian Fund for West and Central Africa (FHRAOC), a closing and capitalization workshop was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Liptako Regional Governor’s office, in Burkina Faso.
This event brought together FHRAOC partners, including AIRD, MDME, UNIJED/AFRIQUE, Save the Children, and VSF.
Organized by AIRD, the workshop aimed to review achievements, share best practices, identify challenges, and formulate recommendations to strengthen the impact of future interventions. Humanitarian actors, representatives of decentralized state technical services, local partners, and beneficiaries discussed the results achieved in 2024, in a context marked by insecurity, massive population displacement, and logistical constraints.
Key achievements highlighted included the effective distribution of essential items to displaced households and construction and rehabilitation of vital infrastructure (shelters, water points, latrines)
Participants also discussed how to strengthen humanitarian coordination and community accountability as well as integration of cross-cutting issues: protection, gender, and inclusion
The workshop provided an opportunity to document lessons learned, formulate concrete recommendations, and strengthen collaboration among actors for better planning of future interventions.
A big thank you to FHRAOC, local authorities, and all our partners for their commitment! Together, AIRD remains mobilized to support vulnerable communities in the Sahel.
